Eve of Wonder
A poem by Ali Johnson and the Wildwood Trail
Befriend what befell you
In the depths of winter
it fed the flourishing of your soul.
In your weariness remember
every messy step built endurance.
And when you carried another
it doubled your strength, not your load.
Rest your feet on holy ground.
And keep a hopeful vision.
Look for every opportunity
To wake your life with your love.
And bless this eve of wonder
as the bridge home.
